Reviews and Ratings
I was pleasantly impressed with this hotel. The rooms were very spacious, spotless, and modern, providing plenty of room for my toddler to move around and play. The hotel was lovely and warm, which was great on a chilly evening. The service was fabulous, with the staff being very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The location was within walking distance to shops and great walks, making it a convenient choice. The dining experience was excellent, especially the delicious creamy porridge. The hotel offers fantastic facilities for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The hotel's location is superb, ideal for historical wall walks and shopping. The service was mixed, ranging from excellent waiting staff to some staff treating guests poorly. The breakfast experience was delightful, and the dining service was well-run. However, issues were noted with the card handling process. The rooms, though clean, had delays with tea requests, and the price may not match the value offered.
The hotel has a superb location right on the walls of the town, ideal for exploring Derry and experiencing the area's history. The rooms were just standard and comfortable, but some faced shabby offices, and maintenance issues affected availability. The service was welcoming but slow at check-in, and the staff was helpful with directions and parking. The dining could be improved in presentation with more variety and quality. A positive is its close proximity to theaters, shops, and bars, but noise at night might be an issue.
Staying at The Clarence was a mixed experience. On one hand, the rooms were very clean and to a high standard, with a view of the Peace Bridge from my very central street-facing room. The staff were very caring and welcoming, going beyond their duty with lovely smiles all round. However, there were some minor hiccups with reception not being as friendly as expected. The location was superb, within walking distance to all shopping and tourist areas; I truly appreciated being in the heart of Derry. The dining, although friendly and informative, had some issues with food quality. Overall, a good place to stay with some room for improvement.
My stay at the hotel was truly enjoyable. The rooms had amazing personal touches and offered magnificent views of the city. However, it was somewhat disappointing that there were no hairdryer or refreshments/mini fridge in the room. The staff were very friendly and made my stay pleasant. Plus, the lovely buffet breakfast provided a great start to my day.
The hotel is situated in a prime location, ideal for exploring the various attractions in Derry. The rooms could benefit from upgrades such as more amenities and better heating, but the central location compensates for these shortcomings. The dining experience was satisfactory, and the service was friendly and accommodating.
The hotel is centrally located within the city walls, surrounded by shops, bars, and restaurants, making it a convenient choice. The rooms were uncomfortably hot and the dining experience left much to be desired, but the service was friendly and welcoming.
I stayed at this hotel with my wheelchair-user mum, and it was a great experience. The room on the ground floor was comfortable, clean, and the breakfast was tasty. The staff were like a small family, making our stay delightful. A few things to consider, but overall, a lovely stay.
I decided to book this hotel for a relaxing break, expecting the rooms to be ready and stocked with everything we needed. While the standout features were appealing, I found myself having to chase housekeeping for essential items, which was a downside.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the city, making it super convenient for sightseeing and shopping. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, but the view of a vent from the roof was not ideal. The service had its ups and downs, with some staff doing their best but with a few hiccups during my weekend stay. The dining was good but not exceptional, and the price for meals was reasonable. Overall, it's a decent choice for a visit to the area with some room for improvement.
